Daybreak Corporate Center
Project Description: The Daybreak Corporate Center is the first commercial building to be built in Daybreak’s Village Center. The building is 118,000 square feet; three story office building consisting of 650 tons of structural steel. This is the first Platinum Certified LEED project to be built in Utah.
Schedule: Given the numerous design changes before, during, and after steel erection and the corresponding schedule extensions, Sure Steel was still able to meet the project schedule. Quality: The project started out as a Gold Certified LEED project & during construction was changed to a Platinum Certified LEED project. This mid-stream change required much communication and attention to detail as various areas of the building were modified. Sure Steel was able to effectively incorporate these changes without any issues and assist the team in achieving its LEED goal. Safety: There were no significant safety issues on this project. Reference from Sahara Construction: “Traditionally, the value of the steel is substantially more than the labor to install. As a general contractor, it is tempting to solicit a turnkey package from the fabricator and let them pick the erector. We have learned this can be disastrous as we lose the quality and professionalism of the crew in the field. These are the ones that make the project come together. These are the ones we rely on to make sure safety, quality, and schedule are consistent with the demands of the project.
