Project Description:

In early 2007, Sure Steel was contracted to provide a turn-key structural steel package for this multi-phased project.  Sure Steel subcontracted the fabrication of the structural steel to GEM Buildings.  Both Sure Steel and GEM Buildings were involved early on in the design phase of the project to provide cost updates and construct ability recommendations.  Because this project is an expansion to an existing facility, three phases were determined necessary to complete construction while maintaining an operational Student Center for the Campus.  Site limitations of an operational campus substantially limited steel material storage.  Materials were stored in a separate area away from the project.  Because of these limits much of the project depended on the accurate sequencing and scheduling of materials.

Schedule:

Sure Steel has completed the second of three phases.  The first two phase of this project was completed within the required project schedule.  Phase three is expected to meet the project schedule.

Quality:

Sure Steel has had no quality issues on the project. All steel erection was done per AISC standards.

Safety:

There have been zero safety issues on this project.
