Project Description:
Sure Steel was contracted as a single source structural steel design/build subcontractor for this 75,000 square foot indoor practice facility for the University of Utah athletics. Sure Steel’s involvement from the beginning of this project helped Okland Construction to meet the demands of the Owner’s critical fast-track schedule.
Schedule:
By providing a seamless transition between design and construction, Sure Steel was able to effectively manage the structural steel project schedule. Due largely in part to Sure Steel’s design concept, Okland Construction was able to complete the Work in five months from the start of design to end of construction. Sure Steel erected the structural steel framework in two months.
Quality:
Sure Steel was able to complete this fast-track project within schedule without sacrificing the quality of work.
Safety:
There were zero safety issues on this project.
Reference from Okland Construction.: “Normally, in what would take approximately one year to build, Okland condensed the project schedule in to a five (5) month project timeline by acquiring quality consultants, subcontractors and suppliers who were committed to performing within the tight schedule…Despite the uncharacteristic project timeline, the University of Utah's new Indoor Practice Facility is a world-class facility, built to high expectations by not sacrificing quality, functionality or design.” |
