Summit Health Care Regional Medical Center

Project Description:   

This five story building was an addition to an existing health care facility in northern Arizona’s White Mountains.  This project had very limited lay down area with the fabricator being located several hours away.  Access was also very limited as two sides of the new building were connected to the existing building.

Schedule: 

Sure Steel’s portion of this project was completed ahead of schedule even though daily thunder storms often shut the project down in the early afternoons.

Quality: 

Several fabrication errors were dealt with in the field on this project.  Sure Steel was able to work through all fabrication and detailing errors without delaying the project.    

Safety: 

Given the daily thunderstorms at this location safety was a major concern.  High winds and lightning often forced work stoppage in the early afternoons.  Sure Steel’s safety manager monitored these storms and informed the erection crews of any changes.  This project was completed without any major safety incident.
